A Telegraphic Transfer (TT) allows you to electronically send funds directly into your beneficiary's account in a specified currency.

Telegraphic Transfers are the preferred method to make large value international payments as they are processed quickly, cost-effectively and securely in over 100 countries.

Sending a TT

To send a TT¹, you will need to contact your closest branch who will facilitate the payment for you. You will be required to provide the following information in order to process a TT with us:

Your street address
Beneficiary's name and street address
Beneficiary's bank account details

Receiving a TT

If you are looking to transfer funds from overseas to an Sydney Mutual Bank account via Telegraphic Transfer, simply visit the 'International Funds Transfer Portal' button below which will direct you to an American Express web page containing an online form. Fill in your details via the online form and hit 'submit'.

After you've submitted the form, a PDF will automatically appear on the next screen. This PDF will include all of the important information you'll need to process your transfer, including the SWIFT Code (or Bank Code).

International Funds Transfer Portal

Ask the financial institution sending the transfer to send the funds via International Funds Transfer (IFT) to the account details outlined in the PDF.

It is essential to include "For further credit to Sydney Mutual Bank <Member Name> <Member Number>" in the payment notes. When sending funds please advise the sending financial institution that the transfer must remain in the same currency & not converted to AUD. This can also be included in the "Payment Notes". Sydney Mutual Bank will arrange the conversion to AUD through our partners at American Express.

If you are looking to transfer funds from a country not listed on the International Funds Transfer portal above, you will be required to use the details below for your Transfer.

Please Note: If the transfer is done in any currency other than Australian Dollars, the instruction of conversion to Australian Dollars should be noted in the transfer by the sender or remitter.
