Sydney Mutual Bank. New brand, same great service!
At SCU’s Special General Meeting on 24th July 2019, Members voted overwhelmingly in favour of changing the company name to Australian Mutual Bank and accepting the transfer of business of Endeavour Mutual Bank. Australian Mutual Bank will operate as two divisions, Sydney Mutual Bank and Endeavour Mutual Bank.
From 1 October 2019 Sydney Credit Union members will operate under the new Sydney Mutual Bank brand. The brand allows us to present a new look with stylish and vibrant images of Sydney throughout our products and services, including website, mobile app, card products and branches.
The merger of Sydney Mutual Bank and Endeavour Mutual Bank grants us the capacity to make a significant difference to existing and new members. The merged organisation will provide all our members with access to more banking services, more staff, and greater product and service diversification.
A fresh look & feel
SCU’s updated brand mark and visual identity as Sydney Mutual Bank will be revealed on 1st October. The rebranding will be the only difference you will notice. SCU has been helping Australians and Sydneysiders with their finances since 1963 and will continue to provide the same great service just with a new, warm and welcoming brand presence.
A new tag line
Every person with an account at Sydney Mutual Bank is automatically a part owner. One of the family so to speak. Our tag line ‘ACT LIKE YOU OWN THE PLACE. YOU DO.’ sums that up in a way that is friendly, inclusive and, we hope, memorable. It has a similar warmth to the way you would welcome a visitor to your house or office by inviting them to ‘make yourself at home’. It says: “We’re glad you’ve joined us. Be proud to bank here, and look after the place as if it were your own. Because it is.”
What will change in October
All the things you loved about SCU - our generous rates and low fees, the high level of service and the personal touch when you visit us in our branches, will remain unchanged.
Website and Internet Banking |
The new website address is www.sydneymutual.bank. The look and feel of the website, including the Internet Banking have changed to reflect the new Sydney Mutual Bank brand identity. The old website www.scu.net.au and Internet Banking links will automatically redirect you to the new website www.sydneymutual.bank starting 1 October. |
Mobile app |
The SCU mobile app will re-brand as Sydney Mutual Bank, and after the app update you will notice a new app icon and a slightly changed look within the app. Most users have mobile settings to automatically update when there is a new version of an app available; in case you do not have automatic updates enabled for the SCU mobile app, you will need to update the app manually. The mobile app features will remain unchanged, however you will need to register the app again if you are an iOS user. The app registration requires your member number, Internet Banking password and mobile phone number. Most Android users will only notice a new look of the app after update, however members using Android 10 operating system will need to re-register the app after update. |

From 14th October you will have access to an enhanced network of 25 Sydney Mutual Bank and Endeavour Mutual Bank branches. You will notice that all Endeavour Mutual Bank branches will display a ‘Sydney Mutual Bank members welcome’ sign. The updated list of branch locations:

FAQs
Will my member number stay the same?
Member numbers won't change.
Will my Visa cards still work after the name change?
Your Visa cards will still work. Upon renewal, you will be issued with Sydney Mutual Bank Visa cards.
Is the BSB number changing?
The Sydney Mutual Bank BSB number will be 611 001, however the SCU BSB 802 084 will remain in use.
Is the phone number changing?
The Member Contact Centre phone number will remain 13 61 91.
